Could it be another native of France winning an LPGA major?
I’m a sucker for a good golf story.
The four majors are over on the 2023 PGA Tour and it provided exquisite drama, ending with Brian Harman (Titleist Pro V1) winning The Open Championship in the pouring rain at Royal Liverpool golf course in Hoylake, England.
Sitting all day watching the 2023 Open Championship on TV can be trying, though not as hard as standing or sitting all day at the Royal Liverpool course with the breezy conditions, but it’s great listening to NBC’s golf commentators.
Of course the story going into the Open Championship is Rory McIlroy (TaylorMade TP5x).
It’s just halfway past the 2023 season on the PGA Tour and, to borrow a line from the movie Gladiator, “Are you not entertained?”
Now that the LPGA has a new bonafide superstar in Rose Zhang (Callaway Chrome Soft X), it will be interesting how she is marketed and the impact on advertisers TV network, the general public and, most of all, the tour.
The 2023 U.S. Open was played near Hollywood, and there was a Hollywood ending, just not one that was expected but definitely has the makings to be made into a movie.
